About Gerben
Gerben advises project developers, contractors, investors, property managers, agricultural businesses and estate owners active in both urban and rural areas, primarily on project and area development and public-private partnerships. His work includes advising on and guiding land and leasehold matters, real estate transactions, construction contracts (including UAV/UAV-GC), and the redevelopment and realisation of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
He combines broad expertise in civil real estate law, environmental and planning law (spatial planning, environment, water, nature), construction law and agricultural law. In addition to his advisory practice, Gerben represents clients before district courts, courts of appeal, the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State and the Arbitration Board for the Construction Industry. He also assists in matters involving internal church regulations and decision-making, disputes within church communities or the management of church property.
Gerben is strongly committed to his clients and has a keen ability to understand their perspective. With extensive experience, insight and analytical strength, he quickly identifies the core issues. At the same time, he takes a practical approach and knows how to translate legal solutions directly into his clients’ reality. Where disputes arise, his skills and independent role as a KNVB referee serve him well; his affinity with music helps him strike the right tone in conversations.
